Village Green Homeowners Association
Village Greenway Community Watch
Village Green Townhomes, in cooperation with Merriwood Apartments and Oxford Square Apartments, is continuing the organizational plans to create community watch programs for each of our complexes. Village Green's Community Watch, created in 2008 during Phase 1, is headed by Carolyn Davis (Randolph).

Phase 2 (2008-2009), funded under Cary's Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP):

  1. installed Cary PD community watch signs in all 3 complexes;
  2. posted signs in apartment buildings to tell residents to "Call 469-4012" to report suspicious activities; and
  3. installed numbered address plaques in Village Green.
On June 6, 2009, Village Green held its 2nd annual community watch meeting in conjunction with its pool-opening party. Representatives from Cary PD - Officers Matthew Long and Dan Souchek - joined us for grilled hotdogs and hamburgers to remind us on how to protect ourselves and our homes.

Village Green is fortunate to not to have problems that other similar neighborhoods have encountered. We have worked to increase lighting and other safety measures; but the major factor is our stable population, many of whom are home during the day. There are many eyes watching!

Tori Wiggins passes out brochures reminding us to call 469-4012We hope to continue the vigilance through our own community watch program, as well as lend our experience to help our neighbors organize their own safety initiatives.

Phase 3 (2009-2010) Plans

  • Establish official community watches in Merriwood and Oxford Square;
  • Add more street and curbside lighting; and
  • Investigate installing speed "humps."
